    Review by hotel critic

Staying at Hakone Kowakien Mikawaya Ryokan was an absolute delight. the 130, year, old traditional Japanese inn, nestled on the hillside of Hakone Mountain, offered a serene escape 660m above sea level. the room with a private onsen was a pure indulgence, providing a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploration. the ryokan's attention to detail and uncompromising service truly reflected the essence of Japanese hospitality. the dining experience was a highlight, with exquisite multi, course meals showcasing the freshest seasonal ingredients. Each dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. the ryokan's restaurant also offered a cozy lounge overlooking the garden, perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or beer while admiring the beautiful fall foliage. the soothing mineral hot springs provided a perfect way to unwind, accompanied by a picturesque view of Myojingatake, Daimonji, and Sengen Mountains. To the impeccable hospitality and luxurious amenities, the ryokan's convenient location made it easy to explore the Hakone region. With practical information available at the reception and must, visit cultural attractions like the Okada Museum of Art and Hakone Open Air Museum nearby, there was never a dull moment.
